The 2022 Cerro La Trinchera has a purple color and an earthy touch, with complexity and lots of grip. It's serious and quite different from the 2021 that I tasted next to it. It fermented in rauli wood, with 15% kept in old tinaja and the rest in 225- and 500-liter oak barrels. It has 12.5% alcohol, very good complexity, a great mouthfeel and a dry finish. This vineyard is in the process to be recovered, and in 2022, it yielded 4,000 kilograms, when in 2021 it produced 1,500 liters. 4,000 bottles. This is a new País that could challenge the supremacy of Santa Cruz de Coya. A wine to follow.
